Orthopedic Centre - CHBA

Tarkett floors and wall coverings were chosen for the renovation project at the Orthopedic Center at the Centre Hospitalier Bois de l'Abbaye et Hesbaye (CHBAH). Discover how they transformed a hospital into a cozy and warm space.
37 rooms in the Orthopedic Surgery Department at the Centre Hospitalier Bois de l'Abbaye et Hesbaye (CHBAH), were renovated under the direction of Muriel Michels, architect, and Massimo Tamagnini, technical director.
The purpose of this renovation project was to create a hotel atmosphere to replace the standard appearance and feel of a hospital room. The two main requirements were to provide a wood look for the floor and a lively print for the walls. This was easily accomplished with Tarkett’s heterogeneous and homogeneous vinyl floors and wall coverings. The Acczent Excellence 80 flooring collection was used in the rooms because it provided the perfect match between an imitation wood and the convenient advantages of a vinyl roll. In the hallways, the iQ Natural flooring was chosen, because it is easy to maintain and because it created a natural separation between the hallway and the rooms.

For the wall coverings CHBAH chose Proctectwall 1.5. This collection offers a choice of vibrant designs and a stunning jungle print, which was used and well-liked by visitors and employees. Additionally, the Protectwall 1.5 perfectly protects the walls from significant impact often caused by hospital beds, wheelchairs and/or carts.
